Do you spend time looking in the mirror, noticing every little aspect that you dislike about your body? Do you ask yourself: how can I be more confident, how can I have more self esteem, more self worth? Here’s what worked for me: pole dancing classes. Pole dancing classes did wonders for my self esteem and surely boosted my self confidence.
Beginner Pole Dancing Exercise Classes
I searched for beginner pole dancing exercise classes near me and on a Saturday morning, there I was. As soon as the pole dance class started, I realised how difficult it was to make eye contact with myself in the mirror. It was challenging to observe myself since all my body issues were surfacing. I was barely recognising who I was. It took me several session to sink into acceptance and from there on, it was full joy and celebration every time I tackled and mastered another trick. I’m not gonna lie: it was freaking excruciating at first. But it surely paid off in the long run. I now walk straight up, tall, I let my integrity expand. Every time I look into a mirror, I recognise how much I worked my ass (literally) to see this vertical, elegant, beautiful, grounded, feisty woman smiling back at me.
Though I continued to take classes, I realised it was a better investment to just own my pole. And so I did. Now I practice pole dancing workout at home whenever I felt like it.
I have an XPert 45mm chrome dance pole from X-Pole. And I am super happy with it. It’s portable (has been travelling around Europe 🙂 ), static and spinning. For beginners I’d recommend to just work on static and do spinning only for a little bit of fun with the pole dance fireman move.
Now, improving my self-confidence became a daily practice. I look in the mirror with admiration of my body and how much its capacities expanded since I started working out. Also, I celebrate and honour who I now recognise in the mirror: a strong, confident woman, who can look people straight in the eyes and express herself to her full extent.
Pole Dancing Classes Prices
Pole dancing classes prices vary from country to country and from city to city. In New York, you can expect something around $30-$40/class, Paris, 30-40 €. In the long run, I find it better to attend one pole dancing class per week and practice at home for around 15-20 minutes every day. That’s just because I saw results within one month after starting to pole dance. Adapt your pole dance practice to your schedule and lifestyle. 3 workouts per week might work great. Just go with that what works best for you and keep that motivation up. It’s not always going to be easy, but this is your opportunity for growth.
